The Tax Manager is responsible for certain matters relating to the university's federal, state, local, and international tax compliance. The Tax Manager will handle all tax filing requirements including but not limited to the Federal form 990, 990T, and other state, local, and international filings. This position is critical to protecting University resources by researching and tracking economic, political, and legislative trends affecting and potentially affecting the University’s revenue position; identifying and researching federal, state, local, and foreign taxation issues; projecting tax exposures; evaluating and presenting tax action options; approving preparation of work papers, positions, schedules, returns, and IRS filings; minimizing tax liabilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to design, implement and delivery tax compliance related process. • Can apply highly technically knowledge and skills to reduce tax compliance risk • Can assess and impact critical large-scale issues using rational thinking and reasoning. • Skilled orator with the ability to influence leadership and thought processes.
Required Education and/or Experience
• 7 Years Experience preparing non profit tax returns, including 990 and 990-T
Preferred Qualifications
• Master of Taxation • Experience leading diverse teams across multiple career levels.

This position is a exempt, salaried position assigned to pay grade 28.
