Townsen Memorial Surgery Center is looking to hire a PRN Radiology Technologist to join our team in Kingwood, TX. This candidate will be responsible for accurately positioning patients and ensuring that a quality diagnostic image is produced. Working closely with radiologists and physicians, this candidate will also operate X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment under direction of the Medical Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients
Select proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis
Positions patient and set up and adjust equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by the physician
Implements infection control procedures for the work area
Maintains sterile field and implements best practices while in the operating room
Checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong attention to detail: being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
Ability to set up and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required
Ability to clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to equipment
Compliance with facility policies and procedures
Compliance with continuing and mandatory education programs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Associates Degree in Radiology Studies
Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT)
Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
At least two years of radiology experience in a healthcare facility (with one year in the operating room)
WORK WEEK SCHEDULE:
Monday- Friday with part-time requirements to be fulfilled
8-hour dayshift
