Hearst, one of the nation's largest diversified media, information and services companies, has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant. This role is an integral part of the Hearst Corporation's Controllership team, supporting the finance operations of a fast paced, global business. Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Review and analyze financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).* Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, including balance sheets and income statements.* Work with group controllers and accountants to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies.
Group Revenue, Income & Cash Generation Reporting
* Compile and analyze various financial reports from Hearst Operating Groups.* Work with group controllers and accountants to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policy and adherence with Consolidation & Corporate Reporting guidelines.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.* Proven experience (typically 4+ years) in accounting or finance roles, with progressively increasing responsibilities.* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.* Experience with financial reporting and consolidation processes.* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* Big 4 audit experience a plus.* Knowledge of Oracle FCCS (consolidation software), Oracle EPBCS (Planning software) Oracle General Ledger, Smartview, Excel, macros is preferable.* High-integrity individual.
