PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The principal reason for existence of the job is to perform analysis of market and business unit data at corporate level for Elliott Group.
The job assists in the analysis and presentation of market and business-related data for the strategic planning activities of the Elliott Group. This position works in collaboration with the Sr. Manager of Corporate Strategic Planning and with the business units/product lines.
Market outlook and forecast for strategic corporate planning is 3-10 years into the future and business unit/product line outlook is in the 1–3-year period.
The job is instrumental in helping to identify and quantify changes in global market conditions, customer requirements, competitor behavior, and threats/opportunities.
This job will compile, analyze and report strategic business financial and market related data.
The job supports the Sr. Manager of Corporate Strategy in the analysis and development of growth opportunities including mergers and acquisition (M&A) or corporate partnerships.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
The job requires a minimum of five to seven years of work experience in strategic analysis in the manufacturing and/or service industry.
An understanding of financial, marketing, industry, global business structure and operations is expected. M&A experience is beneficial.
Product knowledge of industrial equipment or turbomachinery is preferred.

Must have demonstrated capabilities in financial analysis and strategic development.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering).
Able to handle spreadsheet/graphic/word processing and internet software.
Comfortable working with minimum supervision
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Experience in due diligence activities for mergers and acquisitions
Strong understanding of corporate finance
Experience with different valuation methods (including DCF, comparable public companies, and other M&A transactions)
Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
High attention to detail
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems.
Superior analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills
High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
Monitor, evaluate, and report information pertinent to business.
Support and develop presentations for the business on strategic topics and market/business intelligence analysis.
Understand market dynamics, competitive landscape and economic drivers for growth.
Conduct or assist in conducting market research studies on specific topics related to the business.
Support development of investment business cases, as it pertains to achieving strategic goals.
Support operational activities and requests, including resourcing, reporting, planning, and leadership presentations,
Collect and analyze market segment and customer research data to identify and prioritize market trends, new applications, new customers, strategic alliances, strategic business partnerships and potential mergers and acquisitions.
Participation in exhibition, conference or forum type of event to investigate short to long term market trends
