About the team and position…
Carvana's Inventory Reconditioning & Quality Control (IRC) team builds and supports the supply chain for our wonderful selling machine on Carvana.com. In short, we build and maintain a number of solutions internally that support all reconditioning and quality processes responsible for making sure all vehicles meet Carvana standards and ultimately produce vehicles that our moms would love!
Our team works lock-step with operations to ensure that we release tools that will improve the efficiency of our inspection centers to save costs and reduce reconditioning cycle time.
What you’ll be doing…
Work with Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing.
Use Kubernetes for automating deployment, scaling, and management of applications.
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.
Test, troubleshoot, and optimize application components for maximum speed, security, and scalability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design new features.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
Stay up-to-date with new technology trends and incorporate them into operations and activities.
What you should know…
Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
Deep understanding of React web application development.
Proven track record and passion for application of new technologies.
Experience working on applications that share common resources.
Strong fundamentals in writing effective unit tests.
Experience in debugging and troubleshooting web applications, API integration, and infrastructure.
Good communication and collaboration skills - Carvana developers work very closely with strong supporting teams and require great interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
It would be great if you also have…
Confidence to actively contribute to team discussions.
Experience with integrated monorepo solutions, Nx preferred.
Experience with React Query and state management tooling.
Familiarity with Storybook and component-driven development.
Proficiency in writing unit tests using Jest and Testing Library.
Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and PKCE authentication flow.
Experience integrating native device functionality into browser applications.
Experience with Azure cloud services.
Comfort in setting up and modifying build and release pipelines for CI/CD.
Ease in working with development tools from the Linux command line.
