Director of Strategic Communications

* As a Director of Strategic Communications at Grand Rounds, you will be Chief Storyteller. You will contribute to the ongoing refinement of the messaging and positioning of the company, and ensure that your executive spokespeople speak "in unison." You will help refine and evolve the messaging in response to threats and opportunities, as well as keep pace with the ongoing evolution of the company.
* You will be responsible for proactively maintaining positive relationships with leading industry influencers and driving coverage of our vision, strategy, differentiation, and market momentum.
* You will develop, manage, and execute a consistent communication strategy that leverages key industry events and product launches, major initiatives, editorial opportunities and more to generate proactive, impactful coverage opportunities and publicity that will expand the reach and perception of the Grand Rounds mission.
* You will manage the relationship with our PR agency and maintain a "scorecard" that evaluates their results as well as your own.
* As the "voice" of the company, you will also help set a positive example for other Grand Rounds team members and contribute to the overall culture of the company.
Desired Skills and Experience
* First and foremost, you know how to tell a good story.
* You're a detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for healthcare and technology, a strategic mind, and a track record of executing successful strategic communications programs, with proven management, interpersonal and leadership skills.
* You have an outstanding track record in communications and PR with either strong agency or in-house expertise (or a combination).
* You describe yourself as collaborative and prefer to work in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple projects and priorities.
* You have worked with high-level executive teams, and are comfortable working with the CEO (you will have a LOT of CEO face time in his position)
* Creativity is your middle name, and you have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. (Seriously. You need to be able to write at a highly professional level. How else can you help us tell our story?)
* You understand the need to rally internal resources and data in order to create the content required to evangelize the Grand Rounds mission-including working with stakeholders across multiple departments, from data science to engineering.
* You posses a strong knowledge of social media tools and platforms, and have top-notch analytic skills.
* You are a strong networker with both a passion for coverage and a strong base of media relationships and contacts.
* You can maintain both a sense of humor and a sense of urgency.
