A major client of ours, who provides cloud technology for the retail space, has a need for a Network Security Engineer for their Melville, NY location. This is a permanent position paying $140K-$150K. This role is hybrid. Onsite on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays and remote on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The client is also willing to sponsoror do a visa transfer for the right candidate.

As Network Engineer you are responsible for the network infrastructure and security posture. The position requires hands-on technical experience for managing the networking for our data center and cloud environments, and security systems.
Responsibilities
Managing the networking for our data center and cloud environments, and security systems.
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, servers, DNS and DHCP.
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Investigating faults in the network.
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
Managing data center "local hands” subcontractors involved with equipment installation.
Coordinate penetration and vulnerability testing.
Process-driven work such as VPN tunnel configuration for clients.
Configuration of network connectivity with outside vendors and verification of security compliance with company controls.
Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
Operating effectively, even when things are not certain, or the way is not clear
Requirements 5+ years related experience working in a network engineering capacity.
BS degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Experience in design and implementation of highly available network environments.
Familiar with shell scripting.
Experience in design and implementation of firewalls, DNS, IDS/IPS, WAF, anti-virus, content filtering, data loss prevention, endpoint security, email security, network vulnerability scanning, incident management, and disk encryption technologies.
Solid understanding of IAM and other strategies for account management.
Expertise at the command line.
Solid understanding of OWASP principles.
Fundamental understanding of security best practices.
