As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

As Engineering Manager for Pixel Thermal, you will lead a team of engineers and build System Software for the next generations of Pixel devices. You will define and drive the system software roadmap focusing on the device thermal experience by exploring, evaluating, and optimizing major software and hardware components.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

+ Provide technical leadership and collaborate with hardware, silicon, software teams to plan and execute engineering programs, thermal software architecture, product policy, and user experience improvements.

+ Contribute to development of requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, metrics, and integration to ensure quality deliverables.

+ Work with Technical Program Managers on release roadmaps and ensure the team is well positioned to support programs.

+ Improve efficiency and implement automation/tools to guide future software and hardware efforts.

+ Set expectations with individuals based on their level and role, meet regularly to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
