Electrical Design Engineer

The opportunity to work with a rapidly growing MEP firm in Boston!
Your daily responsibilities will encompass electrical design for a variety of public and private sector projects, including those for federal agencies, transit stations, industrial and commercial buildings, schools, and federal, state, and local government institutions in the region.
You will be tasked with preparing electrical design criteria documents, electrical design directive drawings, electrical system calculations, technical analyses, contract design drawings, detailed specifications, and performance-based specifications for electrical power distribution and related systems.
Responsibilities:
Provide construction support, including reviewing electrical shop drawings, managing contractor relations, and conducting site surveys.
Lead and participate in meetings with clients, state and city agencies, utility service representatives, and project teams.
Deliver projects on time and within client budgets.
Ensure projects comply with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines.
Actively contribute to project teams in a production role.
Prepare project specifications.
Prepare electrical construction cost estimates.
Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Over 5 years of progressive experience in engineering and designing electrical systems
Electrical power design experience is required
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code, NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes
Experienced in facility surveys, report preparation, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, and construction support
Proficient in AutoCAD
Experience with Revit
Experience with MicroStation is a plus
