The Class A Driver/Truck Mechanic is responsible for driving and operating our 2,500 and 5,000 gallon vacuum tanker trucks. This individual will also be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to our fleet of Ford F Series Super Duty service trucks.The ideal candidate thinks logically and enjoys solving problems with creativity, diligence and achievement. Qualified candidates will possess a general knowledge of PTO driven vacuum pumps as well as necessary skills to perform repair and maintenance of our fleet of service trucks. Knowledge and skills related to plumbing, electrical, motor controls, and/or construction related activities is a plus. Must have a clean driving record and be customer service oriented with a good attitude. PumpMan SoCal, a PumpMan Holdings company, is the industry leader in pump system services. We are known as a strong and reliable pump system maintenance, repair, and new system installation company serving Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties and surrounding communities. Our goal is to provide customers with solutions to their fluid handling needs.
**Responsibilities:**
* Drive and operate single axle 2,500 gallon vacuum tanker truck, hauling non-Hazardous liquids (Requires Class B license).
* Drive and operate dual axle semi-truck with 5,000 gal vacuum tanker hauling non-Hazardous liquids (Requires Class A license).
* Maintain and perform minor repairs primarily on trucks equipped with Power Stroke diesel engines & Automatic Transmissions and two semi-trucks (major repairs are typically outsourced).
* Assist pump mechanics & technicians with shop & field activities as necessary.
* Complete inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; completing repairs in a fast paced environment while providing the lowest possible maintenance cost for the company.
* Utilize safe work procedures to foster a safe work environment.
* Tracking and scheduling of all fleet maintenance including permits and registrations.
* Receiving phone calls and responding to regular and after hour road calls.
* Organizes and maintain fleet records and requirements per company and regulatory guidelines.
* Performs parts ordering and garage inventory.
* Maintains garage equipment and shop work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
* Assist in identifying, completing warranty repairs and recouping warranty reimbursement as applicable.
* Observe all health and safety rules and regulations.
* Perform any additional duties (on or off site) as assigned.
**Qualifications and Skills**
* California class A Drivers license with Tanker Endorsements.
* Ability to work independently and work extended hours as needed.
* Reside near company location and willingness to travel within client territory.
* Must be insurable to drive company vehicles and able to pass a background investigation, physical evaluation, and drug screen.
