Logistics Aftermarket Manager

Job Description Job Description Essential Functions:

The Logistics Aftermarket Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the transportation, warehousing, and salvage operations to promote organizational sustainability and growth. Directs the flow of donated, purchased, and salvage goods throughout the organizational network of locations. Provides leadership and develops operational goals while guiding and promoting employee development within the assigned departments.

Responsibilities:

1. To lead warehouse, salvage, and transportation/logistics operations.

2. To oversee and manage the flow of donated, purchased, and salvage merchandise between stores, donation centers, warehouses, outlets, and vendors.

3. To lead and supervise salvage, warehouse, and transportation staff.

4. To hold staff accountable and take any necessary corrective action to ensure accountability and adherence to goals, policies, procedures, and direction.

5. To oversee and maintain in good order the maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.

6. To ensure all transportation safety regulations are followed to make for accident-free driving, lowered insurance costs, and to ensure DOT regulatory compliance.

7. To work to improve financial viability and sustainability of the transportation, salvage, and warehousing departments.

8. To enforce and uphold organizational and departmental standards regarding financial performance, quality of work, reliability, safety, and efficiency.

9. To read, interpret, and take appropriate action on financial reports, labor reports, maintenance reports, salvage surveys, etc.

10. To work to reduce and minimize trash/waste expense to the organization.

11. To assist in the sourcing and development of salvage and recycling opportunities throughout the agency territory.

12. To interpret and uphold employer policies and enforce safety regulations.

13. To streamline schedule for transportation department to ensure proper support for all locations. (Support includes pick-up/delivery of goods, salvage, and trash.)

14. To identify opportunities and generate ideas to improve the Logistics, Warehouse and Salvage Operations.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.

2. Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission.

3. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and among, personnel while motivating each to put forth their best effort

4. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

5. Must be able to work flexible hours on short notice, including nights and weekends, and occasionally long hours.

6. Must provide own transportation.

7. Must be able to lift up to 25# and up to 50#’s occasionally.

8. Must be able to engage in prolonged standing and walking and in frequent bending, stooping and stretching. 9. Must exhibit proficiency in the use and operation of warehouse equipment to include pallet jacks, tippers, balers, and material handling containers.

10. Must be certified to operate a forklift or obtain certification within 90 days.

11. Must be able to function in a work environment with high stress.

12. Must have knowledge of salvage commodities such as Textiles, Shoes, Linens, Purses/Accessories, etc.

13. Must exhibit good judgment and decision-making abilities.

Requirements:

1. Requires high school diploma or equivalent

2. Must have 5 years of leadership experience in trucking, warehousing, and Salvage Operations

3. Requires 3 years of Leadership experience directly supervising other workers

4.Must possess knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations.

5. Must maintain minimum automobile liability insurance as required by the State of Louisiana and be insurable through the Company’s insurance carrier.

6.Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain current registration and state vehicle inspection.

Working Conditions:

Frequent physical exposure to donated goods materials The ability to tolerate frequent periods of high stress, manage a heavy workload and multiple priorities. Unconditioned warehouse environment with forklift traffic, truck traffic, high noise level, and moving containers. Powered by JazzHR
