Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities.
Work on implementing User Interface/client-facing features of the core Fusion 360 product as well as some underlying logic. Design, implement, test, and maintain features for Fusion 360 based on stakeholders’ requirements. Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new operating systems, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Write technical design documents, participate in the design and code reviews, and develop estimates for tasks and document code. Work with an extended team of software developers, QAs and product designers in the US and other worldwide engineering sites. Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Determine system performance standards. Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status. Some telecommuting is permitted.
Minimum Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software developer-related occupation. Some telecommuting is permitted.
Special Requirements :
Position requires at least 5 years of experience in each of the following skills:
Experience with designing and developing software applications using Qt/QML that run on different operating systems - Windows, macOS, iOS, QNX, Linux, and Android, and developing UI components that are modular and reusable across different platforms, devices, and software architectures.
Experience with maintaining, troubleshooting and debugging code, using C++ on both the Windows and Mac operating systems. Experience working as a contributor to resolve challenging technical problems within areas of technical knowledge.
Experience researching and resolving defects logged by customers or QA and documenting all changes made. Experience handling problem reports and customer issues, demonstrating an understanding of urgency and value.
Experience participating in daily team scrum meetings, sprint planning sessions, and backlog grooming, and demonstrating product increments in sprint reviews.
Experience participating in design and code reviews to ensure they meet high standards and quality. Experience mentoring more junior software developers with the code review process, providing constructive feedback and teaching them skills when necessary.
Experience working with Product Owner, Product Manager, and team to understand and help refine functional requirements for new products or upgrades and contributing to defining story work within areas of knowledge.
Experience with exploring and understanding application architecture, preparing High-level and Low-level detailed design documents.
Experience designing and developing realizable and elegant test automation solutions using Squish which is used to ensure pixel perfect quality of Qt/QML components, and this solution works across all platforms and devices.
Experience exploring and proposing various application optimizations to improve application performance, and implementing said optimizations where necessary/applicable.
Experience profiling and Benchmarking User Interface components to measure the CPU and Memory usage of the various components in the application.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $142,002 - $170,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
