Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong electromechanical background to join their team in Santa Barbara. This hybrid role will involve both on-site and remote work, providing flexibility while ensuring close collaboration with their cross-functional teams. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced products.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical input into complex electromechanical projects from conception through completion.
Design, analyze, and validate electromechanical systems and components.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure project success.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against these metrics.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met.
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and project updates to stakeholders.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in electromechanical system design and project management, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.
Proficiency in CAD software and electromechanical simulation tools.
Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel as needed for project requirements.
