The Lead Inspector / CMM Programmer will examine parts or components produced either internally or externally to ensure they conform to company and customer drawings, standards, and specifications. Responsibilities: Serve as the technical lead for the QC department.
Audit ongoing jobs in the shop to ensure quality procedures are being followed.
Collaborate with current inspectors to ensure accurate part inspections using manual equipment and CMM (Zeiss) with Calypso programming.
Act as a backup CMM Programmer/Operator.
Perform in-process checks on active jobs using CMM and manual equipment.
Must be proficient in using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, tri mics, plug gauges, etc.
Communicate effectively with management and shop personnel to maintain production flow, identify issues, and resolve bottlenecks. Support the company's continuous improvement initiatives.
Create inspection reports to document actual values against drawing specifications. When necessary, initiate reject tags, discrepancy reports, and inspection reports following company procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 8 years of quality control and dimensional inspection experience in a related industry.
Advanced knowledge of CMM programming and operation, with preferred experience using Zeiss Calypso CMM software.
Inspection experience using a granite table and hand tools.
Advanced knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 (a test will be administered).
At least 8 years of experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and engineering drawing notations.
