The Digital Print Specialist position exists to be a design and data management specialist, preparing and flowing files into digital print devices to accomplish a variety of print outcomes. Is expected to understand design for print, data merging, able to run and troubleshoot digital print equipment and perform routine maintenance duties on this equipment. Executes print jobs that are timely, accurate, and cost effective, resulting in complete customer satisfaction.
Maintains and operates digital toner and ink jet print equipment, print controllers, print interfaces and supporting systems necessary for operation
Prepares and presents jobs to the digital printers to meet or exceed standards and deadlines. Adobe Creative and processing integration skill required
Organizes the flow of the print room jobs in cooperation with the scheduler and In Plant management
Maintains daily print job production logs and remotes data capture on print management system
Sets up, programs and releases jobs from print queue. May adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper
Monitors quality of job output for correctness and image quality
Tracks supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets, and rollers, paper, tabs, and other items as needed for reorder. Maintains inventory levels
Possesses strong skills in collaboration with CSRs, Designers, and job owners to achieve desired results
Creates and utilizes defined repeatable processes, standards, and methodologies to perform process measurement to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements
Reviews and recommends changes to standard operating procedures
Has in-depth knowledge of all departmental software, hardware, and systems, provides repair and maintenance
Is responsible for approval of contractor invoices
Learns and participates in other finishing and direct mail equipment as needed in the mindset of “one team”

Takes personal responsibility for housekeeping and safety within the team's work area
Contributes toward meeting predetermined performance objectives
Remains flexible and willing to work anywhere with any team member when there is a need
Remains dependable, flexible, and punctual and maintains a good attendance record
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
As part of a larger integrated team focused on print success for the ministry, this position may be called on to help train designers in layout that works for print ang engage in problem solving meetings to fix art and get on a timeline
Prepare desktop procedures for most regular data, file, and maintenance tasks
May assist in scheduling and assigning trainees for department
Participates in team meeting, project and job debriefs and brings positive options to constantly improve
Willing to jump in where needed as needed for the success of the team
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Noise from various mail/material-handling machines
Fumes from forklift exhaust
Dust associated with mail and packing materials
Must be able to stand 6-8 hours/day
Must be able to bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, and reach above head
Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity
Must be able to hear and see alarms/phone/normal speaking voice
Able to distinguish color in print outcomes for color matching

Knowledge/Experience:
Associate’s degree in related field with direct training/certification in design for print
5-7 years of digital print experience
Knowledge of software applications including, Prisma Prepare, Adobe Creative suite, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access), InDesign, Plant Press. VDP, knowledge base in digital printing
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
Requires coordination sufficient to operate various machines

Proficient skills in use of computer, hardware, software, operating systems
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems

May require knowledge of geography and diverse international cultures
Pay Range: $22.00 to $25.25/hr
