What you bring to SBHG (qualifications) : Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required. Associates degree, preferred.
One (1) year service experience working as a LVN or LPT in a behavioral health field
One (1) year medication administration experience required.
Valid California LVN or LPT license.
Current CPR certification.
How you will make a difference (job overview):
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician (Nurse) assists with medication support services provided by the psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, or physician's assistant. Medication support services may include, but are not limited to; med support appointments, taking vitals, medication education, medication management support and/or administration, including injections. Follow up communication, tracking and documentation for labs, prescriptions and appointments. provides direct client care including medications and basic medical intervention and education, following standard nursing practices.
Division/Program Overview: The program sees adults (18+) and older adults.
It is a FULLY community-based program - all services happen at a person's home or community.
The clients have complex needs - medication, housing, vocational, independent living and mental health.
The intensity for services for each client is about 10 hours per month and once we are fully up and running, we'll have a census of about 50 adults.
We are preparing to also start an Adult Outpatient Program which this position would oversee as well. Eventually, this position will have all our Adult programs, including IHOT.
