SQL Server Database Administrator
Position Description
CGI is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team!
Responsible for the daily operation of our database systems. The role is influential in bringing forward great ideas and advancing the projects Database Platforms.
Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database systems. There is also a heavy focus on automation and tools such as PowerShell and TFS integration.
Opportunity to work with other database professionals and support a variety of Microsoft SQL Server technologies including SQL Server Reporting Services in a virtualized Microsoft Windows Server environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Install, deploy, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server as well as other ancillary SQL Server components such as SQL Server Reporting Services
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database system alarms and alerts
Support .NET development activities including database build and release processes
Granting and removing access and privileges for database users
Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
Create and maintain database system documentation
After hours and weekend support is expected during certain phases of the project
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) 2010 or later
Must have experience installing and troubleshooting SQL Server in a Microsoft Server environment
Must have experience setting up and maintaining SQL Server Replication
Must have experience setting up and maintaining SQL Server Reporting Services
General understanding of networks, and protocols (firewalls, routers, switches, TCP/UDP, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal skills
Familiarity with client/server architecture
Familiarity with VMware and Microsoft Windows System administration
Skill Set/Years of experience:
Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration - 2+ years
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services - 1+ years
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Server, specifically in archiving reports from Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
Experience with performance tuning Microsoft SQL Server database systems and databases
Experience with performance tuning SQL Server Reporting Services systems, reports and databases
Skill Set/Years of experience:
Microsoft SharePoint Server - 1+ years
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services - 1+ years
Minimum Education Required: Associates Degree
Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $59,000-$95,000*
