We are currently hiring for a leadership role in the State Street Global Advisors Client Coverage Group. This new position, Managing Director, Global Head of Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence Research will be at the forefront of our efforts in the newly formed Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence Research unit. You will drive the development and execution of the overarching advisory solutions strategy serving institutions, employers, and financial intermediaries, globally, alongside the investors under their care, reporting to the Head of the Client Coverage Group. The creation of this role underscores State Street Global Advisors’ (GA) unwavering commitment to strengthening relationships with strategic partners and clients, to distinctly position ourselves in a competitive market landscape.

The advisory solutions and wealth intelligence research initiative seeks to not only differentiate our offerings but also to amplify our impact across GA’s strategic priorities, client segments, and geographies. Given your industry expertise, you will be responsible for leading this unit and overseeing two pivotal teams: the Practice Management team and the Research Center team. Your mandate is to provide business development guidance and practical solutions, encompassing overall wealth management trends, investor sentiment and behavior, financial management engagement preferences, and product and service considerations.

You should possess deep knowledge of the wealth business, strong investment acumen and proven experience building a consultative business development function while driving strategic initiatives. Success in this role hinges on your ability to expand our influence among strategic partners and clients as well as within financial media circles. In addition to giving our clients the best chance for investment success, key performance indicators include increasing engagement, transcending transactional sales, driving revenue and retention, and enhancing our marketplace presence with exclusive strategic insights.

As the Global Head of Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence Research, you will:

• Be responsible for developing the advisory solutions and wealth intelligence research roadmap, setting strategic direction, and overseeing the execution of all initiatives.

• Be the subject matter expert and cultural ambassador for business-generative thought leadership and actionable insights to help the firm create a competitive advantage, differentiating and strengthening client interactions by providing more than simply investment products. This includes contributing to the media and speaking at industry conference and client-led events.

• Partner effectively across the organization to effectively leverage our unique abilities and best resources for the betterment of our clients. You will listen, influence, and collaborate with key partners. You will navigate complex organizational situations to build a collective understanding and align on the path to put forward a dynamic intellectual capital platform that builds connections between professionals with shared interests and goals.

• Utilize innovative approaches – the role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute client-facing consultative business development strategies that align with the firm’s overall goal of extending impact and creating long-term value. This includes a demonstrated ability to understand clients’ unique needs and provide tailored solutions to help them achieve better outcomes.

• Via the Research Center team, establish a centralized hub to both provide invaluable support to our clients and strengthen our position as a top asset manager in the wealth market. This hub will serve as a dedicated platform for financial professionals, wealth managers, and financial advisors to access our latest thought leadership, research, and insights on pivotal issues shaping today’s wealth management landscape, including investment solutions, investor sentiment and behavior, advisory experiences, market outlook, and risk perceptions. Your goal with the Research Center is to ensure it achieves these dual objectives, maintaining a consistent commitment to a primary research agenda focused on industry change management and our strategic priorities.

• Via the Practice Management team, uphold the best-in-class reputation within the industry, maintaining the resource as a sales enablement function dedicated to delivering business solutions tailored for wealth managers and financial advisors. Focused on practice strategy and investor strategy, these solutions will involve direct client interaction and aim to drive relationship alpha. Your vision includes growing the team to best support Americas Wealth and US DC clients, while also extending the resource to cover intermediary clients in APAC And EMEA. The expectation is to empower advisory clients to make informed decisions and seize emerging opportunities with confidence.

• You will manage a complex budget, while maximizing the time and resources of the Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence Research unit.

• You will measure effectiveness of the Advisory Solutions and Wealth Intelligence Research unit and will work across the organization to identify areas of opportunity and improvement.

• You will lead a team of employees and develop diverse talent. You will bring a track record of identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent.

• You will deliver risk excellence and comply with the sales supervision culture that demonstrates and promotes the highest ethical standards.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the investment management industry including 5 years in senior level roles in Advisory Development and Applied Research.

• Executive Leadership skills – a collaborator and influencer who inspires trust in others and influences across an organization; a leader who can make others around them successful.

• Demonstrated track record of successfully navigating complex organizations and marshalling resources to complete strategic initiatives.

• Strong track record of connecting the dots to inform a larger strategy while maintain an execution-oriented mindset.

• Strategic and forward-looking mindset. Ability to identify key trends and advise how the business can enhance its consultative sales and thought leadership strategy.

• Ability to use data and metrics to set and drive strategic objectives.

• Extraordinary verbal and written communication and sales presentation skills.

• Strong budget oversight and optimization.

• Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to company.

• Willing to travel at least 50% of the time, including globally.
