Legal Assistant (Legal)

The position supports the head of the Tax, Trusts & Estates Practice Group and entails a range of administrative functions that play a critical role in efficiently processing tax returns and providing assistance to the group in the form of calendar scheduling and editing, proofing and formatting estate documents.
Tax Processor Responsibilities:
Scanning/compiling tax documents to internal tax software programs
Assembling tax return forms either through hard copy or using Adobe Acrobat
Submitting returns to clients and/or taxing authorities either by electronic means or mail
Administrative Legal Assistant Responsibilities:
Support Head of the Practice Group and other attorneys as assigned
Proofing, editing and formatting documentation
Calendar scheduling
Drafting of instruction letters to clients
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with computer programs within Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to quickly learn and use varying software programs
Highly detailed, organized multi-tasker
Ability to manage workflow assigned by multiple attorneys and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints with competing and shifting priorities
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic with ability to work independently while effectively working as part of a team
Ability to problem solve and maintain good judgment and strict confidentiality
