Job Summary

The Senior Director, Comcast Advertising Strategy Team will have the opportunity to work on a variety of strategic and high visibility projects that help shape Comcast Advertising’s enterprise-wide strategy. This key contributor to the Comcast Advertising Strategy Team will work with functional and executive leaders across Comcast, Effectv and Freewheel, several of the business units within Comcast Cable, NBCUniversal, and Sky as well as work with leading industry organizations and vendor partners within the advertising and advertising technology industries. The scope of the role focuses on championing the value proposition of the Comcast Advertising organization both internally at Comcast and externally to advertisers, agencies, and the broader industry. The Senior Director will need to develop, own, navigate and manage multiple relationships across Comcast Advertising, Effectv, Freewheel, the broader Comcast organization as well as industry and vendor partners.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

Act as primary relationship with key business unit executives and functional leaders to ensure clear and regular communication and understanding of organization goals, initiatives, and projects

Represent the broader view of Comcast Advertising when supporting the business on specific projects or initiatives while balancing short-term needs and long-term strategy

Support the launch of new products and business operations by working with key constituents across product and functional areas to ensure alignment with business objectives

Develop, manage, and maintain a portfolio of work across multiple projects/initiatives derived from ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Participate in business development and partnership discussions

Analysis and Presentations

Oversee projects and develop strategic analyses to assess new growth, further expansion and investment opportunities, and evaluate business risks for the Executive Leadership Team and Business Unit Senior Leadership Teams

Identify business, financial and operational implications. Provide business insights based on rigorous, fact-based analyses of customer needs, competitive dynamics and industry trends

Provides the Comcast Advertising Executive Leadership Team and the Strategy & Operations senior leadership teams with project updates, analyses, and work products/deliverables

Keeps current on important industry trends based on analyst research, industry news, conference attendance, etc.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Proficiently conduct / guide complex analyses from scoping to execution through to conclusion and providing clear recommendations to junior resources

May be required to directly manage the work of other members of the Comcast Advertising team or shepherd cross-functional teams to achieve project or initiative goals

This individual may be responsible for directly managing and developing talent within the Comcast Advertising Strategy Team

Core Skills:

Synthesize insight from multiple workstreams, data sources and team members to create effective, concise support material with storylines tailored to audience and objectives

Lead discussions with stakeholders and team members and presenting recommendations

Working with little/no oversight or supervision, capable of working in ambiguous environments

Clearly and concisely communicate across business units and functions and to senior leadership teams

Support and guide to junior resources; actively provides feedback and identifies stretch opportunities for junior resources

Contributes to team building (i.e., coordinating trainings, organizing events, helping with recruiting)

Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Demonstrates the ability to act as a member of a working team or an individual contributor

Other Requirements

Support the Vice President of Strategy with the administration and management of the Strategy Team as needed

Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

Self-starter with ability to drive analytics independently and manage multiple projects / deadlines

Excellent diplomacy, relationship building and communications skills across all levels

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance

Respects and promotes diversity and inclusion

Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

Qualifications:

Minimum 4-5 years of industry experience. 2+ years of overall strategy & development or related experience; strong preference for management consulting backgrounds

MBA or post-graduate degree preferred; equivalent experience considered. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Advertising, Finance, or related field of study

Experience developing business cases, financial models and senior-executive level presentations.

Previous experience with the media sales, advertising, advertising technology and/or consulting experience preferred.

Master's Degree
