About Tencarva: Founded in 1978, with roots dating back to 1957, Tencarva Machinery Company is a premier equipment distributor, engineering and design partner, machine guard manufacturer, and full-service repair center. Serving hundreds of customers across the industrial and municipal segments, Tencarva’s various divisions cover 16 states and provide end-to-end, tailored solutions for complex systems within the fluid/solids/air/gas handling and water/wastewater treatment sectors. Our service offerings include system analysis and design, application engineering, custom pump assembly, fabrication and machining, automation and controls, and equipment service, repair, and remanufacturing.

Summary: Promptly and accurately provides customers, both external and internal, with application assistance, quotations, orders, and bill of materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Gather all necessary technical backup information pertaining to the quotation.

Evaluate customer bid requirements, specifications, & other pertinent data.

Prepare quotations based on technical information provided by or extracted from customers. Review the quote, if necessary, with the sales engineer, branch manager, or operations manager before sending it to the customer.

Prepare proposals using vendor software, sales catalogs, and cost estimates according to technical and performance requirements.

Aid in the design & development of equipment & systems, & redesign of existing systems.

Work closely with outside sales for prompt remedy of customer technical problems, complaints, or failures.

Respond promptly to customer requests, whether a quotation request, technical information request, or expedite request.

Prepare bills of materials accurately, promptly, and clearly.

Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application. Keep current on all necessary software used internally.

Articulate technology and product information to sales engineers, service personnel, and customers.

Explain technical features of products and assist customers in proper selection and sizing. Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements, and always be courteous and professional with customers and vendors.

Maintain accurate records of accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts, and correspondence.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university; 2-4 years related work experience and/or training is strongly preferred.

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills, knowledge of MS Office Software (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook), and internet software.
