What You Will Be Doing: Facilitate patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Obtain specific information to generate an accurate financial and demographic record for patients that will ensure maximum reimbursement and clinical outcomes.
Schedule appointments, interview patients for appropriate medical information, explain charges and policies of the department/hospital.
Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect necessary payment.
Answer incoming calls and directs patients and visitors appropriately.
What You Will Need: A High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of relevant experience in a health care setting preferred.
Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding experience preferred.
Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA preferred.
IU Health will be using a Phone Interviewing Software (Qualifi) to send out phone screening interviews for this position. Please be sure to indicate on your prescreening questionnaire if you will need accommodation to complete the phone screening (i.e. deaf/hard of hearing, visual impartment etc.)
