How you will contribute:
* Advising clients on enhancing tax opportunities and managing risk associated with mergers and acquisitions* Analyzing tax risks of target companies using tax returns, accounting information, and interviews with management* Preparing and analyzing reports correlating tax diligence and tax structuring findings with client valuations* Identifying issues affecting purchase price, deal structure, or deal termination* Reading and advising clients with respect to purchasing agreements* Working closely with executives, investment bankers, private equity and corporate clients, attorneys, or other stakeholders* Working alongside other Forvis Mazars team members to exceed client expectations
We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment* Proven ability to effectively supervise and coach team members* Willingness and ability to travel
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college/university* CPA license or admission to state bar required* JD or master's degree in taxation preferred* A minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate or partnership tax or transaction tax (M&A tax), including at least two (2) years of tax due diligence, from a large public accounting or consulting firm* Strong current knowledge of U.S. federal income tax, mergers, and acquisitions, and transaction services* Current knowledge of state and local taxes is a plus* Recent experience with corporate and pass-through tax concepts* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, and PowerPoint
