Peraton is currently seeking to hire an experienced Cyber Security Engineer tojoin our Federal Strategic Cyber program.
Location:Arlington, VA. Ahybrid telework/remote work environment. Must be able to come on-site as needed.
Position Description:
Design, test, and implement state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products.
Analyze array of security products for Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) products for use within the team for constant securityanalysis. Works with the Customer to identify best products
Work with infrastructure engineers to integrate security scanning and security best practices within the development lifecycle.
Regularly work with developers on implementing secure coding practices into their process.
Conduct risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design.
Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.
May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years related technical experience required. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts.
Strong understanding of ecosystem of Open-Source and paid SAST/DAST products.
Experience with leveraging benefits of security products within DevSecOps workflow.
Strong communication skills; can easily translate technical security concepts into understandable guidance for both the team and advise for our Customers.
Experience with GitLab CI/CD Test Automation Pipeline & Reporting.
Experience with Openshift/Kubernetes and other container-based platforms.
Experience interfacing with clients, technical support personnel, and other technical professionals to ensure efficient and effective service.
U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance required.
In addition, selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation to start and for continued employment.
Preferred:
Experience with SAFe Agile testing environments.
