About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director of Research and Policy for its Center on Poverty and Inequality. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning the center's programmatic work with its goals and values, as well as translating strategic direction into policy and research priorities. This role involves developing research programs, securing funding, and forming partnerships for new and existing projects. The Managing Director will also provide strategic support to program directors and senior policy analysts, oversee the Census and Data Justice portfolio, and engage in relationship management with faculty, funders, and policymakers. Additionally, the role includes mentoring students, supervising staff, and representing the center at public events and in the media.Applicants must have a JD or Master's degree, with at least 8 years of experience in the relevant field. Substantive analytical skills in economic security and racial equity policy are essential, as is the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the mission of the center, deep relationships in the areas of economic justice and racial equity, and a proven track record in fundraising and policy publications. Preferred qualifications include a background in government service, experience in running large-scale research projects, and a high level of knowledge in the center's areas of focus. The role requires excellent interpersonal, project management, and leadership skills, as well as a proactive, collaborative, and forward-thinking mindset.
