The Director of the Arizona State University (ASU) College AssistanceMigrant Program (CAMP) Scholars grant in the School of TransborderStudies will provide leadership in the implementation, coordination, andcontinual improvement of the ASU CAMP Scholars Project by state,federal, grant regulations, and ASU policies and procedures. This is agrant funded position. Continuance of the position is subject to renewalof funding.
ASU CAMP, established in 2016, is a federally funded college access andretention program for first-year students with a migrant seasonalfarmworker (MSFW) background at ASU. The activities of the Projectinclude: outreach and recruitment; FAFSA, college, and scholarshipapplication assistance; scholarships, financial literacy classes, andfinancial aid counseling; transitional orientation programing; academicadvising, tutoring, supplemental instruction, and educationalprogramming; a STEM major support initiative; peer coaching, academicmentoring, internship, and community service placements; culturalactivities, leadership training and family engagement activities. We arecurrently in year three of a five-year grant cycle.
The Director will execute the ASU CAMP mission of providing holisticeducational and support services to eligible MSFW students in acomprehensive, responsive, and sustainable manner. The Director willbuild and nurture relationships with key internal and externalstakeholders to enhance and advocate for CAMP Scholars. The Directorwill ensure compliance with federal and university statutory andregulatory requirements and conditions of the grant award.
The successful candidate will have a mindset focused on innovation,data-driven decision-making, and cultural responsiveness while providingthe vision to address changing social, educational, demographic, andfinancial factors impacting CAMP Scholars\' service delivery.
