I am the medical director for CRNAs at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR. I have been a part of Sound since we took over anesthesia responsibilities in November 2023. I am proud of the anesthesia practice we have built and welcome interest from CRNAs coming out of training or desiring a career change. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:
People We are a newly established care team that will consist of 21 physicians and 50 advanced practice providers.
Our team is collaborative and courteous to each other as we work toward one common goal: providing prudent, compassionate, and equitable care to all patients.
Most of our providers are seasoned and well-versed in all subspecialties of anesthesia.
We believe that leadership does not need to be hierarchical. We encourage leading by example in providing prudent, compassionate, and equitable care to all, while courteously collaborating with team members is paramount to the success of an operation. Everyone is equally important on this team. Holding high work ethics and emotional intelligence are key for having a cohesive team and thus are essential qualities in team members.
Practice Our practice fosters a low-stress environment where colleagues from all disciplines treat each other with genuine respect. We cultivate a strong sense of belonging, united by a shared desire for positive change.
Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors, so a flexible schedule is available, and we cover for each other when one of us is out.
