Audubon is currently seeking a Senior E I Engineer to be part of a project team working onsite at a client's Chloroplene plant in Laplace, LA. The Senior E I Engineer will provide technical leadership and support for the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Electrical and Instrumentation infrastructure. This position reports to the Manufacturing Technology Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
Working closely with line leadership, technical resources, operators and mechanics to understand the business, site and user needs and priorities.
Providing technical assistance to businesses in support of top line growth, asset effectiveness, improvement programs and major capital projects.
Maintaining technical knowledge of process instrumentation equipment (pressure, flow, temperature, control valves, etc.)
Maintaining technical knowledge of 2.4 kV and 480V switchgear, protective relays application and testing, 2.4kV and 480V motor control centers and motors, and 120/208 VAC uninterruptible power systems.
Developing predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to insure improved equipment reliability.
Providing trouble shooting support and follow-up on instrumentation and electrical equipment failures, determining root cause and identifying actions to prevent recurrence.
Developing and designing applications of instrumentation and control systems to integrate with the existing distributed control systems.
Evaluating the existing instrumentation and utilizes engineering design processes to improve accuracy, reliability, and calibration records.
Recommending, sourcing, and ensuring proper installation of new instruments in a manner that will provide accurate, and reliable process control.
Providing hands on assistance to E I Technicians with trouble shooting instrumentation problems including system calibrations. Lead and assist, as needed in the training of E I Technicians.
Assisting in developing capital projects of new equipment and major repairs.
Providing support for our Alarm Management and SIS.
Participating in PHA and LOPAs.
Providing support for ABB DCS and Allen-Bradley PLC.
Utilizing computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Contributing to the safe operation of the plant.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position:
BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET Accredited University Program.
7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
5+ years industrial plant experience with a fundamental understanding of PSM (Process Safety Management) systems.
Chemical industry experience a plus.
Possesses an understanding of National Electrical Code, with emphasis in hazardous (electrically classified) locations, and Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
Proven success in leading projects and teams.
Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
