Overview:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an integral part of the delivery of health care and provides for primary care in many ambulatory settings through the CHS Physician Enterprise. The APP provides patient care under the supervision of a qualified physician and is credentialed through the Medical Staff process.

Job Details:
OR/SURGERY:
Assist the Physician in the OR during cases
Rounding on patients - Pre and Post procedural
Educating patients and family members
Discharge patients in accordance to the Physicians instructions
OFFICE HOURS/PATIENT CARE:
Conducting patient visits and assessments. Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations
Participates in and provides clinical care to patients through interview and observation, evaluation and assessment, intervention, planning and written documentation during their visit
Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients
Assisting with office-based procedures.
Fielding patient phone calls and addressing inquiries.
Placing orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests
Providing simple follow-up care and instructions to patients
Facilitating pre-operative clearances, orders, and necessary testing
Writing comprehensive progress notes in the office on behalf of the physician, ensuring accurate and thorough record-keeping.
Triaging during office hours, to ensure the doctor is running on time
Interprets laboratory and test results.
Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care
Preparing cases for Tumor Board presentation bi-weekly
Requirements:
PA - Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, minimum Bachelors degree required
Certification:
Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C)
BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted:
American Heart Association or American Red Cross - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
No online programs from any organization will be accepted.
DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities.
Experience:
Minimum of two years experience as an APP in a physician practice or ambulatory environment preferred. General surgery/Breast surgery highly preferred.

Posted Salary Range:
USD $66.55 - USD $89.55 /Yr.
