Role: Technical Project Manager - Release Management/App Dev
Location: Irving, TX - Onsite (5 Days)
Duration: 6+ Months
Job Overview: Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Project Manager specializing in Release Management and Application Development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and experience in coordinating application development projects and managing software releases. As a Technical Project Manager, you will ensure that application development initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and deliver high-quality releases.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical project management, specifically in application development and release management.
Proven track record of managing complex software development projects from inception to completion.
Technical Skills Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Microsoft Project).
Familiarity with release management tools and processes.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with application development frameworks and programming languages.
Experience in a specific industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, e-commerce) relevant to the company's business.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for application development projects.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including developers, QA testers, and business analysts.
Release Management Plan, manage, and oversee software release processes to ensure timely and smooth releases.
Coordinate with development, QA, operations, and product teams to schedule releases and ensure all pre-release activities are completed.
Manage and mitigate release-related risks and issues.
Stakeholder Communication ct as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
Facilitate communication between development teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
Technical Oversight Ensure technical feasibility of project solutions and adherence to best practices in software development.
Collaborate with technical teams to address technical challenges and ensure that project deliverables meet functional and non-functional requirements.
Quality Assurance Implement and manage quality assurance processes to ensure that application releases meet the defined acceptance criteria and quality standards.
Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for improvement.
Risk and Issue Management Identify potential project and release risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Resolve project and release issues promptly and effectively.
Resource Management llocate and manage project resources, ensuring optimal use of team members' skills and expertise.
Coordinate with other project managers and resource managers to resolve resource conflicts and dependencies.
Documentation and Reporting Maintain comprehensive project and release documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-release evaluations.
Provide regular status updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
