Job Description Job Description POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement, The Associate Director of Donor and Alumni Relations works with donors, alumni, volunteers, students, staff, and faculty of The King’s University to lead and implement activities, programs, services, and communications that will serve and engage donors and alumni. This role will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Advancement to fulfill the duties associated with cultivating donor and alumni relationships, providing support to the team, department events, marketing, and communications.

Position Specific Responsibilities

Engage in strategy and relationship building to ensure donor engagement, retention and cultivation.

Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with the goal of increased giving and engagement in coordination with the department and in accordance with the departmental fundraising plan.

Develop prospect pipeline through visits, events, correspondence, and regular calls as required for donors in the portfolio.

Help facilitate departmental events by recruiting sponsors and guests and providing hosting and other duties as part of a team.

Provide leadership, direction, and resources to the Alumni Advisory Council (AAC).

Participate in the creation and distribution of promotional materials in print and online, including Alumni magazine, web postings, social media, and newsletters that support departmental initiatives.

Cultivate relationships with alumni to enhance engagement and fundraising support.

Facilitate alumni gift solicitation programs and cultivate potential alumni donors.

Develop and further expand an alumni board, association, or regional alumni chapters as assigned.

Track results to help inform and drive decisions about future initiatives and strategies.

Participate in budget planning and administer budget for assigned functions that align with department goals and initiatives.

Perform related duties as required or assigned.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Experience: Relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or business development.

Relevant experience in finance and marketing. (preferred)

Minimum 2 year’s experience working in higher education with students, donors, and/or alumni. (preferred)

Competencies: Maintain integrity of confidential financial information and deal with sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.

Ability to listen well and engage a diverse group of stakeholders.

Knowledge of non-profit sector.

Positive attitude and willingness to serve stakeholders of TKU.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Proficient in utilizing Office 365, Salesforce, and social media.

Detailed, thorough, and proficient at meeting deadlines.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to develop, interpret and apply policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Travel and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, are required
