Job Description

Information Support Services CoordinatorThe Information Support Services Coordinator under the supervision of the Senior Director of Technology coordinates the planning, implementation, and management of the district's information systems—including student information, business, HR, transportation, rostering, application integration, and data management. This role ensures data integrity, system reliability, and effective support for district applications, enabling efficient operations and informed decision-making.QualificationsEducation/CertificationBachelor's Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred) Relevant professional certifications (e.g., database management, SIS/BIS administration) preferred Clear and valid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesExpertise in student information systems (SIS), business information systems (BIS), HR/applicant systems, and application integration Knowledge of data management, SQL, user account provisioning, account rostering, and system interoperability Ability to analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot complex application issues, and recommend improvements Experience managing application upgrades, data migrations, and system implementations Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in documentation, compliance, and reporting for information systems Familiar with PEIMS and OCR reporting requirementsExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience in information systems or application support, preferably in school district Demonstrated success in managing information systems projects and technical teamsMajor Responsibilities and DutiesInformation Systems Coordination & ManagementOversee support for student information systems (SIS), business information systems (BIS), HR/applicant systems, and related applicationsManage user accounts, provisioning, and data integration across district platformsCoordinate application upgrades, data migrations, and system implementationsMaintain documentation, compliance, and reporting for information systemsCollaborate with curriculum, HR, and other departments to ensure effective system useProvide customer service & technical support to district & campus personnel regarding PEIMS requirements and third party rostered applications.Assist with training related to attendance accounting, discipline management, & other PEIMS requirements.Monitor campus staff on data quality and submissions.Policy, Compliance, and ReportingImplement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policyDevelop and maintain systems of internal controls, data security, licensing, upgrades, and disaster recoveryEnsure compliance with data privacy and cybersecurity standardsCompile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documentsAssist with the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data StandardsWork cooperatively with campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state deadlinesRun edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information; distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correctionAssist with submitting accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to education service center (ESC) for processing using computer terminal or personal computerCollaboration and SupportBuild positive relationships with district leaders, campus staff, and external partnersProvide technical guidance and support for information systems-related issuesRespond to inquiries and deliver high-quality customer serviceSupport communication between district personnel, ESC/TEA, and software vendors regarding PEIMS and SIS issuesCoordinate with the the Senior Director of Technology, Director of PEIMS & District Data Support Systems, HR Director and C&I DirectorsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsTools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripheralsPosture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twistingMotion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reachingLifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hoursMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress This document describes the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
