Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) is seeking an experienced Director of Account Management to help drive digital and partnership revenue across the Company. This position will play a central role in the generation of revenue utilizing data, local and national marketing strategies to sell customized solutions for our clients. The role will report into the GM Partnerships & Digital Integrations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success driving revenue and winning new business along with a clear understanding of direct, programmatic, and social eco-systems. This is an opportunity to harness prior experience in advertising/media/marketing spaces and bring a combination of Industry relationships, product and client insights, optimize and expand our partnerships with clients. They must be a highly effective communicator (orally and written) and be able to successfully manage multiple priorities and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Account Managers to drive overall client success and own responsibility for the performance of advertising campaigns
Manage day-to-day communications around clients and their accounts both internally and externally
Provide quantitative and qualitative reports to drive continuous improvement, optimization, and innovation for key accounts and earn repeat business
Work with the Sales team and cross-functional colleagues including product, marketing, operations, and data science to ensure client success and achieve defined KPIs
Execute on strategy that supports organizational goals
Adapt recommendations to suit varying client needs that creates win-win situations for both CHSN and its partners
Build strong relationships with clients, understand their businesses and upsell based on campaign KPIs and performance
Work with GM and Head of Commerce and strategic plans to develop and grow company's partnerships sales
Demonstrate understanding of the market trends, competitive landscape and customer needs
Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized client solutions
Drive revenue by establishing relationships across large and small ad agencies, independent agencies, and local clients
Proactively identify opportunities for creating new and impactful relationships
Deliver marketplace feedback and client challenges internally to help improve sales products and develop new solutions
Serve as an ambassador for the CHSN brand and mission in market, clearly explaining our unique value proposition and platform
Effectively problem-solve and manage both client and internal customer needs
Work with Sales team to develop and implement a comprehensive up-sell sales strategy to drive revenue growth
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to hit and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to track and measure performance against these metrics
Provide performance reporting and recommendations to enhance revenue growth for CHSN
Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization, promoting the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Promote and sustain a positive work environment
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's Degree
8+ years' experience in Account Management within the media/advertising/ad tech space, preferably with a focus or interest in the Sports industry
A minimum of 1 year managing an Account Management team
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals
Deep understanding of digital media including digital planning, optimization, direct and programmatic
Understanding of how advertisers measure media across app and web and any relevant third-party tools
Fluency across full-funnel campaigns e.g. brand, mid and lower funnel
Ability to build strong relationships with partners/clients and influence buying decisions
Expertise in putting together client reporting such as wrap reports & QBRs
Ability to tell a story with data through data trend analysis and presentations
Strong technical understanding and ability to troubleshoot
Willingness to attend in-person client meetings
Demonstrated experience in developing and growing new business
Proven experience with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
Strong business acumen and high integrity
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) will launch in October across multiple platforms. The network will air more than 300 live Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox games annually and include pre- and postgame coverage while showing multisport programming 24 hours a day. CHSN will broadcast from studios located in both Chicago's United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field. The network will start airing Blackhawks and Bulls preseason games in October, showing White Sox games beginning in 2025.
