This job is responsible for the conceptualization, research, development, and execution of internal and external communications for the Ochsner Health Chief Executive Officer. This is a strategic role responsible for using persuasive and engaging internal and external communications to build Ochsner's brand equity, reputation, culture and position among employees, patients, and regional and national communities. Drafts briefings, remarks, talking points, motivational messaging, video scripts, correspondence, social media, board messages and slide presentations and supports the CEO at on site events and engagements. This position is an in-person role.

Works closely with senior leadership of Enterprise Communications, the Office of Strategy Management, and key stakeholder to capture and refine executive voice, key messages and original, strategic content for the CEO remaining consistent across internal and external platforms and audiences. Works collaboratively to develop themes content while achieving focused goals and targets that support Ochsner's strategic plan.

Education

Required - Bachelors degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business, or related field.

Preferred - Masters degree in Communications, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 5 - 7 years' experience in communications writing and strategy within a large, geographically dispersed healthcare system, government agency, national brand, or agency setting.

Digital communications experience, including working in content management systems, intranets, social media, and mobile apps.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Ability to interact comfortably and confidently with senior executives and key leaders.

Exceptional level of detail, fact checking, and due diligence applied to all research, content, materials, and statistics.

Exceptional, proven talents in written and oral communication including research, interviewing, editorial topic development, strategy development, communications plan development, speech writing, copyediting, and proofreading high-level, public, confidential, and sensitive communications documents.

Established track record writing for high-profile organizational leaders and successfully positioning and developing a unique voice for these leaders in verbal and written communications.

Strong collaborator, confident advocate, team player and strategic advisor that can easily pivot and adapt to constantly changing scenarios.

Computer literacy including all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint with experience in advanced PowerPoint design.

Strong ability to build relationships from staff members to senior leadership through a culture of trust, transparency, and empowerment.

Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate conflict toward solutions while being resilient to challenges and setbacks.

Demonstrated initiative, strong attention to detail, strong project management and organizational skills, and advanced ability to analyze information and make recommendations.

Job Duties

Produces effective, authentic, relevant, influential, and well-researched content in the CEO's voice for a wide range of formats, events, and audiences. Creates briefing documents for major speaking engagements and visit days to assist the planning and drafting process.

Collaborates with the Enterprise Communications team, Office of Strategy Management, and others to develop themes and content.

Provides research, writing and/or editing for regular CEO system internal messages, video scripts, op-ed pieces, strategic correspondence, and additional writing projects as needed.

Assist in staffing key events, supports back of the house production, works with the Enterprise Communications and social media teams to advance the CEO's internal and external media profile, and more.

Remains current in the latest trends in executive communications and monitors content by other leaders in healthcare, B2B and B2C industries, politics, and policy. Identifies effective techniques and narratives and applies models to system executive communications.

Optimizes results through the delivery and measurement of consistent messaging across multiple platforms and tactics.

Performs other duties as assigned.
