Position Summary
US Remote / Austin Hybrid
The Business Development Director is responsible for Thales's growth and profitability through the definition and execution for the Banking & Payments Business Line (BPS) of a market & customer-driven Strategy, fueling actionable and impactful Strategic & Marketing Plans in support of the global business objectives.
They will help build BPS Digital Payments go-to-market strategy in North America, building relationship and defining new business models with strategic partners (Issuer Processors and Payments Networks), as well as help amplify the brand awareness, supporting our participation in relevant market events.
Build, propose, drive the go-to-market strategy, vision, and new positioning of BPS, supporting Sales teams to expand the reach of our value proposition with existing customers.
Ensure the visibility and relevance of Thales as a key player in the Digital Payments ecosystem in North America.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Capitalize the value proposition of BPS Digital Payment offer in the Payments ecosystem in North America
Build strategic partnerships with Issuer Processors and Payments Networks, defining new business models that will support the growth of our offer in the local market.
Design and implement the Go-to-Market strategy for BPS Digital Payment offer, assisting Sales teams and actively promoting our value proposition aligned to the North America market specific needs and consistent with the organization's long-range strategic goals and objectives.
Support the Account Management teams to position BPS in existing accounts as relevant player in the Digital Payment ecosystem.
Collaborate with Product teams to build Product Roadmap aligned with local market needs
Provide leadership, direction and management of the market research function and competitor analysis to identify existing opportunities and methods to capitalize on potential profitability.
Support Marketing teams on brand awareness strategy, with strong focus in increasing pipeline
Expected Deliverables:
Build Strategic Partnerships with Issuer Processors and Payments Networks to support our Digital Payment in North America:
Short term strategy: Close partnership deals with at least 2 large Issuer Processors
Long term strategy: Have main issuer processors and payment networks recommending Thales as the main enabler of Digital Payments in the North American market
Key Success Factors for Thales Digital Payment offer in the North America
Deep knowledge in the Payments ecosystem in North America
Strong relationship with C-level executives in Payments Networks and Issuer Processors
Ability to negotiate partnership deals for complex payments solutions
Minimum Qualifications
B.A./B.S. with MBA preferred, with 10+ years' experience successfully promoting and selling digital cards solutions
Minimum 7 years' experience in senior level Business Development/Sales/Strategy/Partnerships management position and expertise in the North American Digital Payment market
Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all products and marketing aspects (branding, product promotion, etc.)
A leader with both creative and strategic analytical capabilities
Demonstrated ability to build a mid to long term vision and translate it into short term executable plans
Expertise in digital products and marketing
Special Position Requirements
Travel: Domestic travel up to 30%, International less than 5%
