A law firm in San Jose is seeking a skilled and experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in employment law, a commitment to defending and advising employers, and experience handling a wide range of employment-related claims. The position requires excellent academic credentials, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges.
Advise, counsel, and train employers on various employment and labor law issues.
Represent employers in court or arbitration, before administrative agencies, and at mediations in employment matters, including class/collective actions and claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, contract, employment tort, and non-compete cases.
Handle Class Action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases (experience preferred).
Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, motions, and pleadings.
Develop case strategies and provide clients with regular updates on case status and strategy.
Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials, presenting strong and effective arguments.
Engage in mediation and negotiation to resolve disputes.
Ensure compliance with current agency (state and federal) procedures and regulations.
Maintain thorough and organized case files, ensuring attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.
Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base and training programs by staying updated on current employment laws and trends.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials.
Admission to the California State Bar, in good standing.
4-6 years of experience in employment litigation or related legal field.
Strong understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures and regulations.
