NACA is looking for a strong tester and problem solver to support its operations and internally developed systems and applications. The Quality Assurance Analyst (“QA Analyst”) will be primarily responsible for systematically testing both new and existing functionality, identifying issues, troubleshooting, and putting forth recommended solutions. In addition, the QA Analyst will assist with regulatory compliance and quality control including the preparation and response to compliance examinations to reduce liability and the company’s overall risk. The role requires a methodical approach to testing, reporting issues to developers and IT, and verifying solutions. Furthermore, the QA Analyst must ensure not only that the software performs to specifications but that it also provides an optimal end-user experience as well.
The QA Analyst will demonstrate strong attention to detail and have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate must be able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards, provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues, and follow through to resolve issues and ensure the successful completion of projects. The QA Analyst is responsible for the overall evaluation of NACA systems and software to ensure they are free of defects and meet the quality standards of the organization. S/he would also provides support for the NACA’s Mortgage Operations in providing quality control and auditing for the various NACA departments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall job responsibilities include:
Create and execute test plans for both new and existing functionality.
Document issues and enhancements using bug tracking and/or project management tools, and report defects to software developers in a structured manner.
Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
Monitor help desk tickets and follow up with users through issue resolution.
Provide expert assistance to NACA customer service with end-user queries and issues including consumer complaints.
Proactively spot areas for improvement to enhance the product’s efficiency.
Research the current market for similar products and compare results.
Work with end-users to ensure optimal user experience.
Track issues, test different approaches and put forward solutions.
Participate in product design to provide input on functionality, user interface design and impacts to end-users, or potential problems.
Proactively spot areas for improvement and put forth recommendations.
Create and maintain back-end system documentation and front-end user guides.
Assist with internal staff communication of system changes and rollouts of new functionality.
Regression testing when rolling out new features or changes.
Obtain a holistic understanding of NACA software systems and data models.
Is a subject matter expert in NACA operational processes and technologies.
Ad hoc assignments and projects to meet business needs.
Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Auditing and Compliance Activities
Assists with regulatory inquiries and examinations including submission of information and documents and follow-up to any outstanding items or findings.
Provide quality control for mortgage applications submitted to the lender.
Oversees compliance auditing and assures that it is completed per NACA’s internal policies and in compliance with all applicable federal and state law.
Monitors program outcomes and provides regular reports to the CEO.
Monitors regulatory changes and ensure NACA’s compliance with such changes.
Drafts public comments, open letters, and other position pieces regarding regulatory, legal or compliance matters.
Supports the efforts of the legal and finance/accounting teams in establishing and maintaining NACA’s compliance programs, including processes for compliance with all applicable regulations and franchise and other filings and reports.
Organizes and maintains files and records of all regulatory filings.
· Provides ongoing company training on compliance issues.
Other Activities and Requirements
Assist in outreach activities focused on low- and moderate-income communities, churches, job sites, events, etc.
Participate in regular trainings.
Participate in NACA events and campaigns.
Other duties as assigned.
Advocacy in Support of NACA’s Mission
Participate in advocacy campaigns as needed. NACA continues its aggressive advocacy in fighting for economic justice for low to moderate income and people of color by addressing the racial wealth disparity gap and other issues. Employment with NACA requires ongoing participation in NACA’s advocacy, campaigns, outreach, community organizing, and other activities as determined by NACA. This includes supporting and actively promoting NACA’s tactics and mission of fighting for economic justice. TIME DEMANDS
The QA Analyst must be able to meet the demands of the job that consists of 50+ hours a week. This is a demanding position requiring dedication and the willingness and ability to work long hours including some evenings and weekends. Some national travel is expected.
COMPENSATION
The salary range is between $60,000 and $75,000+ based on experience, skills, degrees and certifications. The candidate’s performance evaluation and future compensation is largely based on meeting the Job Responsibilities, Competencies and Skills stated herein.

Education & Certifications
Graduate Degree – Preferred.
Training and certifications that demonstrate important knowledge and credentials – Preferred.
Licensed Mortgage Origination License – Preferred
Certifications in compliance – Preferred
Experience & Skills
All experience levels are encouraged to apply. Experience in these areas is a plus: database management; software development and/or quality assurance; user experience testing (UX).
Experience in compliance is preferred.
Experience in the mortgage business is preferred.
A thorough understanding of quality control, underwriting, regulation, and internal audit procedures is preferred.
Knowledge of mortgages, bank services, policies, and procedures.
Can demonstrate instances of formulating a structured approach to testing and/or problem solving.
Able to effectively communicate issues, information and ideas, both written and verbal.
Possesses a solution-oriented mindset in combination with strong customer service skills, including a calm courteous professional demeanor.
Understanding of QA testing / bug reporting tools and how these tools can be utilized to meet different scenarios.
Experience in software development, IT and/or business operations is a plus.
Experience in the finance or mortgage industry is a plus.
Ability to write and speak languages other than English, particularly Spanish, is a plus.
