Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading payroll production processing, training payroll staff/Med Center departmental staff, and providing customer service to the Health System entities (UCLA Ronald Reagan; UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital; UCLA-Neuropsychiatric Hospital; & Tiverton House). You will:
* Serve as a primary resource for UCLA Health System payroll policies with knowledge of UCLA collective bargaining agreements of represented employees, and policies affecting non-represented staff.* Coordinate processing tasks between payroll processors and Financial Systems staff to assure that all UCLA Med Center payroll deadlines are met.* Supervise payroll processors, independently train payroll staff on the systems, schedules their assignments, assess their abilities and work progress
Note: This position is a contract role up to 16 months that may convert to career.
Salary Range: $71,500-$154,900/annually

We're seeking a self-directed, detail-oriented team player with:
* A Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience or training* 3 or more years of payroll experience, a plus* Experience working with payroll in a hospital setting, highly desirable* Leadership background with the ability to mentor, coach, and oversee staff, highly desired* The ability to manage a complex set of tasks in a high-profile, academic health sciences setting* Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritizing abilities* Ability to explain technical policies/procedures to staff members* Strong communication, analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving skills* Knowledge of UC policies and procedures for research grant personnel budget categories* Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and payroll, time, and attendance systems
