We are looking for Field Service Engineer. This position will be based out of Washington DC.

Position Summary:

This position requires a qualified, hands-on, service-oriented technician to be involved with automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty and emergency calls for Critical Power Facilities including Data Centers, Hospitals, Research Facilities. Applicant should show desire to learn and advance to the Field Service Engineer level.

Applicant must carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Focus on work related to automatic transfer switches

Provide technical support of field startups (standard and non-standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts

Supervising and ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws

Conduct client communication in a highly customer service-oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work as well as negotiate any extra charges associated with work performed

All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance of all regulatory laws

Travel requirements: Up to 80% travel. Majority of travel will be within the Northeast Region

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

3-5 years in Field Service Engineering

High School Diploma or equivalent experience / GED

Strong background in electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage and experience with most types of automatic transfer switch testing

Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation and customer technical support

Familiarity with all applicable codes and industry standards

Proficient in looking after client interactions and completing projects on time and within budget guidelines

Strong project management skills with excellent decision making, organization and management capabilities

Must be self-directed and very committed to customer satisfaction

Work optimally with customers, peers and management to resolve client issues

Individuals must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

Excellent customer service, time management and follow-up skills

Power distribution, DC/AC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills

The pay range for this position is $67K-$100K, plus travel and overtime. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location. The position can be filled at a higher or lower level.
