This Engineer position is under the Treatment Plant Program Management team and is an advanced journey level position that will be responsible for managing, leading, coordinating, conducting, and monitoring multiple capital and/or O&M projects.
The Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day management of water treatment related projects, as well as assisting or leading the preparation of project proposals; performing and/or directing planning and scoping studies; obtaining project authorization and funding through Metropolitan’s Board process. The Engineer in this position will perform other initiatives related to project management or new project evaluation as needed in support of Metropolitan initiatives and other related Engineer job duties as required.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; OR Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level.
Relevant Experience is defined as: experience managing capital projects, experience leading multi-discipline teams; experience in design, construction, or project management with facility upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitations.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):
Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer (required at time of application).
