Client Overview:
My client is one of the most well-known heavy civil GCs in the Midwest. With over 75 years’ operating across 5 different states, our client is looking for a Construction Superintendent who possess 5-15 years’ experience in the heavy civil market. 50% of my client’s work is public/ DOT projects spanning $3M-$50M, and the other 50% is private work that provides this GC a consistent balance of repeat clients, new projects and stability. Furthermore, this Heavy Civil Superintendent will be in a position for quick promotions over the next 2-3 years and move up into a senior role as the firm capitalizes on a thriving heavy civil market.
Candidate Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on bridge projects.
Experience with bridge structures composed of a plate girder, concrete girder, and/or steel truss; founded on driven piling, drilled shafts, or spread footings is preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations for construction
Good math and analytical skills; Good communication skills
Ability to teach others verbally and work alongside crews in the field.
Valid driver’s license and/or reliable means of transportation to job site locations.
Ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions in English.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, refine and update the project schedule
Complete knowledge and understanding of contract drawings/specifications
Understand project costs and manage company assets
Create and manage project documentation
Coordinate project operations including subcontractors and material vendors
Knowledge of all regulations to ensure all aspects of the project are compliant
Provide leadership and maintain effective working relationships with the on-site staff
Enforce Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Core values.
Develop daily crew lists and manage field activities to ensure project completion date is met
Lead weekly foreman meeting
Develop two-week forecast to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
Maintain regulatory compliance for projects
Ability to interface and maintain good relationship with owners
Job Offer:
$100,000-$150,000 base salary
