Software Engineer Sr

Job Description

Software EngineerStandard job description plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. The ground software depot team is looking for an experienced software engineer to support the Next Gen GEO program's command and control software in operations. This position will work within a 5-6 person agile team to support the command and control product through the transition into and through operations, providing on-demand support as necessary. In this role you will:Maintain and test the software codebaseCoordinate with the Hardware, Network, and DevSecOps teams to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve system issuesWork defects and mods to the codebase to deliver a release to the customerAttend root cause analysis and failure reviews, representing the ground command and control teamRespond to issues in an on-call posture, including evening and overnight hours as necessaryBasic qualifications:Active Top Secret clearanceAbility to receive and maintain TS/SCI clearanceExperience in software design and development3+ years of C++/C programming experienceLinux OS background/experience developing in a Linux environmentDesired skills:Previous experience with Command and Control software for satellite systemsExperience working with DoD customersExperience working at a DoD siteDemonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum teamExperience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.Pay information:Full-time salary range: $110300.00 - $204900.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
