Help us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable.About This RoleAs People Operations Coordinator, you'll own the day-to-day systems that keep our team running, such as onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS data integrity, and the events that bring our people together. If you seek high impact and are excited by fast-paced, intense, Skunkworks-style projects, we encourage you to apply to join our team.ResponsibilitiesOwn the onboarding and offboarding experience end-to-end, from offer acceptance through first-week ramp and, when needed, exit logisticsAdminister employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and day-to-day employee questionsMaintain accurate, up-to-date employee records in our HRIS, ensuring data integrity across systemsPlan and execute company events and culture initiatives, managing logistics from budget to executionServe as a first point of contact for employee questions, exercising sound judgment with confidential and sensitive informationIdentify gaps in existing People Ops processes and build or improve them — this role has real latitude to fix what's brokenSupport compliance-related recordkeeping and documentation as our team scalesPartner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Finance, and department leads to keep People processes running smoothly amid multiple, competing prioritiesBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree1+ years of administrative experience, including internships or part-time workProficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)Highly organized, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesComfort handling confidential and sensitive information with discretionPreferred Skills and ExperiencePrior experience with an HRIS platform (e.g., Rippling)Experience in a startup or other fast-paced, resource-constrained environmentProject management experience or exposure to process improvement workExperience navigating ambiguity and building process from scratchAdditional RequirementsAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.Equal Opportunity EmployerGeneral Matter is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with General Matter is governed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly rate for this role is $38.00 to $48.00. Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and may be adjusted based on market conditions, business needs, or other factors. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
