Job Description

Mechanical Engineer III with Knowledge of Healthcare Facilities (OSHPD)Location: Newport Beach, CA | Irvine, CAYears of Experience: 7+ YearsPosition Overview:Growing national MEP firm seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with knowledge of healthcare facilities (OSHPD). Opportunity requires an experienced Mechanical Engineer to mentor and lead projects. Applies mechanical systems design knowledge, skill and ability to create construction drawings for the project owner and provides continuous professional support throughout the entire construction process. Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides project management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process.Primary Job Responsibilities:Provides complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client/customer, accurately & timelyIn accordance with company standards, provides assistance in the preparation of accurate and complete proposals and engineering agreementsAccurately and timely produces mechanical systems design elements consistent with project specificationsAccurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parametersProvides research design options consistent with project requirementsSelects appropriate equipment for project typeCreates construction HVAC documents for permitting that are accurate and complete.Produces accurate and complete load calculations and engineering project specifications within project parametersAccurately and consistently execute QA/QC processProvide project coordination with in house and outside sourcesProvides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes and standards consistent with company quality standards.Actively participates in post design consultation activities and represents the company in client meetings through construction completionResponsible for on-boarding and overseeing junior engineersActively mentors junior engineers and designersProvide timely billing of projects to accounting departmentFollows established work rules, policies and proceduresActively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costsCooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assignedNon Essential Job Functions:Other general office processes and procedures and project activitiesActively participate in a company committeeRequirements:A 4-year degree in engineering required, EIT and/or PE preferredMinimum 7 years’ experience in Mechanical EngineeringStrong project management and leadership skillsKnowledge of Mechanical Engineering standards and other tradesKnowledge of healthcare facility standards and codesKnowledge of Title 24Knowledge of OSHPDKnowledge of engineering drafting standardsKnowledge and utilization of company & design standardsExpert knowledge of building codes and standardsDemonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawingsKnowledge of AutoCadKnowledge of RevitExcellent communication skillsOther Skills & Abilities:Team oriented, professional, self-starter, with positive attitude and multi-tasking capabilityEOE: Emissary, its affiliates and its clients, are Equal Opportunity Employers supporting diversity in the workplace.
