We believe offer our employees' healthy work-life balance, including a 4-day work week and generous benefit package.Seeking a Solutions Architect with a proven track record of planning and delivering mission critical software to production.Job DescriptionSolutions Architect with a proven track record of planning and delivering mission critical software to productionOur current technical stack consists of applications running on or backed by Docker, NGINX, PHP 7, mySQL, Javascript (VueJS), Redis, and COBOL. This role is a critical part of our product team primarily focused on managing and developing containerized, consumer-facing, web-based applications written in PHP and using the Laravel framework, with interfaces to a legacy back-office system, written in COBOL and running on an IBM iSeries (AS400). Familiarity with iSeries application programming interfaces is a major plus.Responsibilities:Gather and document requirementsDeveloping functional specificationsLead a small team of software engineersBuild new features from the ground upMaintain and upgrade existing codeCommunicate with stakeholders across multiple departmentsDevelop plans and schedules for delivering features efficientlyRecommend products and processes to improve security and efficiencyProvide regular updates to company leadershipExplain complex problems to stakeholders in layman's termsQualifications3+ years developing and designing production applications written in PHP2+ years leading software development teams consisting of at least 2 other developersExperience developing applications in LaravelExcellent written and oral communicationExperience planning and documenting complex data structuresExperience managing CI/CD workflows that deploy Docker containersExperience with memory-based datastores such as Redis and Memcache in a production settingDesirable Additional SkillsKnowledge of PHP Toolkit for IBM iDevOps experience a plusInsurance or financial industry knowledgeAdditional InformationWe look forward to receiving your application! - Local Candidates preferred- No relocation- No 3rd party Candidates - Unable to sponsor H1-b - EEO/AA M/F/V/D
