This role focuses on creating, managing, and troubleshooting large-scale data storage, transport, management, security, compliance, and knowledge store solutions.You will work directly with customers to perform exploratory data analysis, transform raw data into required formats, and improve the reliability and performance of operational data processing systems. In addition to hands-on engineering, you will provide technical leadership, contribute to system design decisions, and ensure software quality across the development lifecycle.You Will Excel in This Role If You:Have deep experience designing and troubleshooting complex operational data flowsAre highly proficient in Linux/Unix environments and shell scriptingHave strong experience designing and implementing Java-based solutionsAre experienced administering and developing dataflows using Apache NiFiEnjoy working directly with mission customers to analyze and transform raw dataUnderstand data security, compliance, and corporate data flow processesAre comfortable leading development efforts and ensuring software quality standardsCan evaluate hardware/software trade-offs and recommend optimal technical solutionsThrive in environments requiring both hands-on development and technical leadershipA Day in the Life:Designing, sustaining, and troubleshooting operational data flows across storage and transport systemsAdministering and developing data processing workflows using Apache NiFiPerforming exploratory data analysis to clean, enrich, and transform mission dataDeveloping Java-based solutions and writing Bash/Python/Perl scripts to support automation and data processingIntegrating COTS, GOTS, and OSS technologies into mission environmentsEnsuring compliance with corporate data security and governance policiesReviewing and testing software components to ensure adherence to design requirementsCoordinating with system and hardware engineers to derive requirements and validate interfacesProviding technical oversight, improving development standards, and ensuring quality control across team productsMust Have:Active TS/SCI with Polygraph within the last seven (7) yearsMaster's degree in a related field and ten (10) years of SWE experience, or Bachelor's degree in a related field and twelve (12) years of SWE experience, or fourteen (14) years of SWE experienceExperience developing in Unix/Linux environmentsStrong proficiency using Linux CLI toolsExperience writing scripts using Bash and PythonExperience designing and implementing Java solutionsExperience with Apache NiFi system administrationExperience using Apache NiFi canvas to process and distribute dataExperience creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flowsExperience using collaboration tools such as Jira and ConfluenceWorking knowledge of Configuration Management tools and Web Services implementationExperience with Agile development processes and Git source controlNice to Have:Experience with corporate data flow processes and enterprise toolsExperience with corporate data security and compliance proceduresDemonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain Perl scripts and applicationsExperience with relational and non-relational databasesExperience serving as technical lead for multiple development teamsClearEdge is an established small business that values its employees and is committed to providing an environment where individuals can succeed and grow.
