The SQL Database Administrator provides comprehensive database management support related to the global customer IT environment.Responsibilities:This position provides Tier II support for all databases and Tier III for all SQL databases, including the Customer Consolidated Database (CCD) and related databases, as well as databases supporting both legacy and modernized client/server and web-based applications.You will support modernized databases and assist with modernization initiatives.The SQL Database Administrator will conduct proactive and reactive monitoring, responding to incidents and alerts generated by database monitoring software integrated within the Enterprise Event Management and Monitoring capability.You will also conduct manual maintenance, deployment, diagnostic health checks, validation, and reporting processes shall be automated, whenever feasible.The SQL Database Administrator will perform routine database tuning, generate performance/usage reports, and apply DoS-authorized patches.You will execute and validate scheduled onsite/offsite backups and restores.Additionally, you will support integration of database service with partner agencies and internal applications, including managing middleware and messaging queues (e.g., Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) infrastructure).This role requires that you manage physical and virtual infrastructure supporting databases in accordance with Government security and emergency protocols.QualificationsEducation and Experience:The following are the education and experience required for this position:5+ yearsBachelor's in IT or related fieldMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator AssociateSecret Security ClearancePreferred Requirements:Comp TIA Sec+, ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:Sitting for long periodsStanding for long periodsAmbulate throughout an officeAmbulate between several buildingsStoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as requiredRepeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 poundsTravel by land or air transportation 10%.About Empower AIAll hiring and promotion decisions at Empower AI are based on merit to bring the best talent available to contribute to our firm's overall success. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position.
