Electrical Engineer — Houston, Texas

Opportunity Overview HPF Consultants Inc. is seeking an in-person Electrical Engineer to support industrial engineering and automation projects from initial concept through production and implementation. This opportunity is well suited for an Electrical Design Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, Hardware Design Engineer, Controls Engineer, or Industrial Electrical Engineer seeking meaningful project ownership, hands-on collaboration, and technically challenging work. The successful candidate will contribute to dependable solutions for oil and gas clients while advancing their expertise alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team in Houston, Texas. Key Responsibilities Develop electrical engineering and electrical design packages for oil and gas, industrial automation, power distribution, and custom control panel projects. Create, review, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit designs, equipment layouts, and comprehensive engineering documentation. Apply sound engineering judgment to hardware design, analog circuits, power electronics, control components, and electrical system selection. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, designers, project managers, automation specialists, and production personnel to deliver coordinated engineering solutions. Resolve technical design inquiries and support project execution with a proactive commitment to safety, quality, manufacturability, and long-term reliability. Contribute improvement ideas that enhance design consistency, project efficiency, and client outcomes across a diverse engineering portfolio. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Strong foundation in electrical engineering, electrical design, circuit design, and power distribution. Ability to produce and interpret accurate electrical schematics and technical documentation using schematic capture tools. Effective communication skills and the ability to work productively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders in a collaborative, project-based environment. Ability to work in person at the Houston, TX 77079 location and contribute reliably within a team-oriented workplace. Preferred Technical Experience Experience with Altium, ETAP, SKM, Allen Bradley platforms, FPGA applications, or related electrical design and automation tools is preferred. Knowledge of power systems, power electronics, mechatronics, spectrum analyzer use, industrial controls, or custom control panel design is highly valued. Experience supporting multidisciplinary projects involving mechanical engineering, drafting, manufacturing, or field implementation teams is beneficial.
