Software Engineer Level 2As a Software Engineer Level 2 at Independent Software, you will support the development and maintenance of monitoring and automation solutions within Linux-based enterprise environments. In this role, you will work with engineering and infrastructure teams to support Zabbix development efforts, scripting, and system integration activities in mission-focused environments. You will contribute to the implementation and support of monitoring capabilities, automation scripts, and operational tooling while collaborating with technical teams to maintain reliable and scalable solutions.Key Responsibilities:Support Zabbix development and integration efforts within enterprise environmentsDevelop and maintain scripts and automation using Python, Java, C/C++, and related scripting languagesSupport software development and troubleshooting activities within Linux environmentsCollaborate with engineers and infrastructure teams to support operational requirementsAssist with system monitoring, automation, and deployment support activitiesParticipate in troubleshooting and resolving software and system-related issuesSupport documentation and maintenance of development and operational proceduresContribute to team-based development and integration effortsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Experience with Zabbix developmentExperience with scripting and software development using Python, Java, C/C++, or related languagesExperience working within Linux environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively within small engineering teamsStrong written and verbal communication skillsEducation and Experience: Candidates must meet one of the following:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fourteen (14) years of relevant Software Engineering (SWE) experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; OREighteen (18) years of relevant Software Engineering (SWE) experience supporting projects with similar software processes may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.Clearance Requirement:Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this roleWhy Choose Independent Software: At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
