Construction Manager

Job Description

Construction Manager

JLL empowers you to shape a brighter way. Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong. Whether you've got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you're looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

What This Job Involves

As a Construction Manager, you are the hinge between the office and the field. You turn design, buyout, and controls into a buildable plan, then keep RFIs, submittals, the look-ahead, permitting, and change orders moving so the project runs as one job from Preconstruction through Close.

What Your Day-To-Day Will Look Like

  • Convert the bid scope into a formal bid package, updated buildable schedule, and vendor management process.
  • Track designer, vendor, and consultant purchase orders; hold the logistics plan and permitting track.
  • Release long-lead items and maintain the procurement log against the two-week look-ahead.
  • Own the RFI log and submittal cycle: age, track, and close items so the field works only from the approved set.
  • Lead BIM/CAD coordination and clash close-out; route design changes through RFI/PCO.
  • Issue the two-week look-ahead with the Superintendent ahead of weekly coordination meetings.
  • Assemble PCCOs and draft the weekly report and risk feed for Project Manager review.
  • Lead trade planning and interface coordination; keep AHJ permitting current, including submissions, conditions, and inspection pulls.
  • Own the punchlist log from Substantial Completion and coordinate FF&E, client fit-up, and relocation work.
  • Collect final vendor invoices, support cost reconciliation, and assemble the closeout package (as-builts, O&Ms, warranties, training records, attic stock log).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 7+ years in commercial construction project engineering or construction management on multi-trade projects.
  • Demonstrated ownership of RFI/submittal logs, look-aheads, and change documentation.
  • Ability to write scopes, level a bid tab, and turn construction documents into a buildable sequence.
  • Working fluency in construction management technology.
  • Clear, client-ready written communication.
  • Comfort on occupied, landlord-controlled, or mission-critical sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Prior field experience or a strong Superintendent partnership track record.
  • Permitting/AHJ experience through Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.
  • GMP and lump-sum contracting experience.

Expected compensation for this position: 125,000.00 175,000.00 USD per year. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
